  • What’s in the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports box?

  • What is this product for?

    ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are a lightweight and thin, adhesive-backed support that can be worn under clothing to provide support and targeted pressure to sore or injured muscles and joints such as the elbow, shoulder and knee. Pressure is an accepted form of support used on a variety of joints and injuries.

  • How are the Supports different than kinesiology tape?

    The ACE™ Kinesiology Supports provide support and targeted pressure for joints such as elbows, knees and shoulders. They are ideal for those who have a sore or injured elbow, shoulder or knee or for those who are just looking for general support.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports the same as kinesiology tape?

    No, they are different. The ACE™ Kinesiology Supports provide targeted pressure for sore or injured joints such as elbows, knees and shoulders.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports pre-cut kinesiology tape?

    No, the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports provide support and targeted pressure to the elbow, knee or shoulder. They have 2 layers of support; the Flexible Fiber Matrix Material and the Pressure Pad, which together provide targeted pressure. They are easy to apply because they require no cutting, stretching or someone to apply them for you. Once applied to your skin, the Supports are breathable and conform to your skin to move with you to provide targeted support during everyday and athletic activities. The ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are uniquely positioned in the space between a tape and a health support.

  • Can I use the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports on other areas of the body other than the elbow, knee or shoulder?

    The Supports were designed specifically for use on the elbow, knee or shoulder.

  • How do the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports work?

    The ACE™ Kinesiology Supports provide targeted pressure and support to the elbow, knee or shoulder. They are easy to apply because they require no cutting, stretching or someone to apply them for you. They have 2 layers of support; the Flexible Fiber Matrix Material and the Pressure Pad, which together provide targeted pressure. Once applied to your skin, the Supports are breathable and conform to your skin to move with you to provide targeted support during everyday and athletic activities.

  • Why use targeted pressure and how does it work?

    Pressure is an accepted form of support used on a variety of joints and injuries.

  • Can I apply the Supports by myself?

    YES! ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are designed so that cutting is not needed and the Supports can easily be applied by yourself. Using a mirror may help with applying the Supports the first time. For additional tips on how to apply the Supports please visit our website for the application video.

  • What is the Flexible Fiber Matrix material?

    It is non-woven material that is ideal for use during everyday and athletic activities because it stretches in both directions, is conformable, breathable, comfortable and dries quickly.
  • What is the adhesive?

    It is an acrylate adhesive used in other 3M medical products.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports water-resistant?

    The Supports can be used during water activities and showering but, we do not guarantee the product will stay completely intact if submerged for longer periods of time if used during activities such as swimming.

  • Is the Targeted Pressure Pad the same for the Knee, Elbow and Shoulder?

    Each Support and Pressure Pad is designed for the intended joint.

  • Does the Support stick the same to all skin types?

    No. There are many different types of skin and skin conditions. Adhesion may vary.

  • Do I need to shave before I use the Supports?

    For best adhesion we recommend you trim or shave hair before using the Supports.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports available in other colors?

    No, not at this time.

  • The instructions say not to overstretch the Support – why?

    The Supports should not be pulled tightly or over-stretched when applied. Overstretching the Support may result in skin irritation and/or blisters.

  • Can I wear the Supports while I sleep?

    We recommend that you do not sleep directly on the Support. Prolonged pressure on the Support while sleeping may result in skin irritation and/or blisters.

  • What activities can I use the Supports with?

    The ACE™ Kinesiology Supports can be used for a variety of everyday and athletic activities such as tennis, golf, basketball, biking, running, walking and other activities when you need a little extra support.

  • I have sensitive or irritated skin, should I use the Supports?

    We do not recommend using the Supports on irritated, sensitive or fragile skin.

  • Can I wear the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports with lotion or sunscreen?

    Because the Supports have an adhesive layer, we recommend that no lotions are used on the skin underneath the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports. For best adhesion we recommend you wash and dry your skin before using the Supports. When using sunscreen, we recommend that you apply it around the Support.

  • How do I remove the Supports?

    To properly remove the Support, lift gently and peel slowly. Do not pull off quickly or with force. For sensitive skin or when difficult to remove, rub vegetable oil or baby oil onto the top of the Support. Wait 5 minutes and then slowly remove.

  • Can the Support be repositioned or used more than once?

    The type of adhesive used on the Support cannot be repositioned once it has been applied to the skin nor can it be used more than once.

  • Are the Supports FSA/HSA reimbursable?

    It depends on your healthcare plan. Check with your healthcare plan to find out how to spend your FSA/HSA dollars.

  • How long should I wear each Support?

    The Supports are designed to be worn for up to 3 days.

  • Can I wear the Supports while exercising?

    Yes. For best adhesion apply 60 minutes before exercising.

  • Are the Supports sterile?

    No, the Supports are not sterilized.

  • Can I use the Supports over cuts or wounds?

    No.

  • After I apply the Supports there are wrinkles. Is this ok?

    Yes, some wrinkles are OK. When applying, make sure you have good adhesion to the skin by rubbing down the entire surface, including the edges, to secure the Support.

  • Can I wear the Support underneath a brace?

    No. We do not recommend the Supports be worn with or underneath a brace.

  • Can I use analgesic creams under the Support?

    No. The Supports have an adhesive layer so we recommend that no creams or lotions are used.

  • What if I have a sore wrist, what should I use?

    Today we have ACE™ Kinesiology Supports for the elbow, shoulder and knee but, check back, we are always working on new products. Please see a variety of ACE™ Brand Health Support products designed for the wrist.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports a replacement for braces?

    No.

  • Do the Supports contain latex?

    No, the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are not made with materials which contain natural rubber latex.

  • Do the Supports contain acrylates?

    Yes, the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are made with an acrylate-based adhesive.

  • Are there any pain-relieving drugs in the Supports?

    No, there are not any medications or drugs added to the Supports or their adhesive during manufacturing.

  • Where should I store the Supports?

    For best results store in a cool, dry, well ventilated place. Avoid extended exposure to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity.

  • What is the Pressure Pad?

    It is made from a proprietary blend of unique materials that provides support and targeted pressure yet is conformable and lightweight. The Pressure Pad is not made with materials which contain natural rubber latex.

  • Are the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports considered a Medical Device?

    Yes, the ACE™ Kinesiology Supports are a Class 1 Medical Device.
